Logan's Journey with Cerebral Palsy

Fundraising with Entertainment

Hi all

i am embarking on having my first ever fundraiser for our little man Logan.

For those of you who have not been following our journey,we  have beautiful  5 year old twin boys Brock & Logan, who were born prematurely @ 30 weeks.

We found out at our 20 week scan that Logan had a severe case of Hydrocephalus and Scoliosis and the prognosis at the time was pretty grim. At 1 year old Logan was formally diagnosed with having Cerebral Palsy- Spastic Diplegia- which means he has a lot of spasticity (tightness) in his legs, which makes walking difficult.

In October 2017 , we were given the news  that Logan MAY never walk. As you can imaging that news was devastating to hear. After receiving such news, I immediately researched like crazy and looked at making some big changes to Logan's therapy routine. Since then we have embarked on numerous blocks of intensive therapy and as a result Logan took his first independent steps  a few months later

Over the years Logan has defied all of the odds and has made massive gains in all areas of his development. Today, marks 5 months since Logan has been walking completely independantly- WITH NO WALKER and needing MINIMAL assistance from us. Unfortunately, the NDIS funding we receive each year  is not enough to cover all of the therapy Logan requires to help him be as independent as possible.

We have joined forces with the Entertainment Book to fundraise, so by purchasing a copy of the Entertainment Book you will be contributing towards ensuring that Logan can participate in his much needed Intensive Therapy over the next year.

The 2019 | 2020 Entertainment Memberships are here, with exclusive offers for everything you love to do! It’s the best Membership yet, packed with amazing offers for activities, attractions, shopping, travel and all kinds of tasty treats - from cool cafes to fabulous fine dining.

The funds raised will go towards Logan being able to participate in a 3 week Intensive Therapy block at NAPA (Neurological and Physical Abilitation) which is based in Sydney

NAPA  utilise the IMOT (Intensive Model of Therapy) by providing a tailor made combination of therapies for 3-5 hours  a day, five days a week, for three full weeks. The three-week intensive program is based on strengthening and conditioning, decreasing unwanted reflexes, and teaching new and improved motor patterns through repetition and correct alignment.

Intensive Therapy has proven to work for Logan and we have seen him make more gains in a 3 week Intensive Therapy black than he has with a years worth of weekly therapy

So thank you all very much for purchasing an Entertainment Book, every cents helps us get Logan one more step closer to achieving his goals ???

Thank you

Jo, Jon, Brock & Logan x
